Remedial work is high risk, technical, and nobody has been speaking for the people who do it well.

Why a body, and why now

Facades fail. Waterproofing fails. Structures degrade. Putting them right is specialised, consequential work, and until now it has had no professional home.

IRP exists to define what competence looks like in remedial practice, admit the practitioners who meet it, and speak for them nationally.

It is a membership body, not a training company. Education is the way in. Membership is the point.

What IRP does
  • Standards

Define what competent remedial practice is, publish it, and hold members to it.

  • Education

Set the entry benchmark through the Diploma, and keep competence current through continuing development.

  • Representation

Speak with one national voice to government, regulators and insurers on remedial matters.

  • Community

Give the people who investigate, identify and remediate a professional home.

Membership

Membership is assessed, not purchased.

Three categories, one standard. Admission is judged against published criteria by a review panel, there is no charge to apply, and the Institute sets out the evidence required and every step of the process in full.

How membership works Individual · Corporate · Supplier Associate

One Diploma, nationally recognised, owned by the profession.

The 11095NAT Diploma of Built Environment Remediation Practices is the qualification that anchors membership. It sets the national benchmark for remediation practice.

IRP holds academic oversight. Approved Registered Training Organisation partners deliver and issue the qualification, so it stays current, practical and aligned with real remediation work.

Independence

Built so a competitor can join without hesitation.

IRP is a membership body, not a training company. Its independence is structural, not merely stated. Your competitors are your colleagues here, and the standard belongs to all of you.

  • Education ownershipThe Institute owns the standard. It does not compete with members for delivery work.
  • Separation of activityAcademic oversight, RTO delivery and any commercial activity are kept structurally separate.
  • Documented governanceRoles, decisions and admission criteria are documented and published.
  • Conflicts declaredInterests are declared and managed on the record.
